The 4th of July is the happiest of celebrations.
The mere mention of the date reminds us of bright summer days heavy with smoke from the grill, clinking ice cubes in sweating tumblers of lemonade, and tri-colored tablecloths rippling in the afternoon breeze.
Across the country, folks are dipping their toes in kiddie pools and dripping baked beans on their laps. Whispering children play flashlight tag while the adults talk and laugh; their voices blending into the sounds of the night.
Throughout Southeastern Indiana, communities are celebrating with parades and fireworks. Gather the kids and grandparents, then pack the car with some fried chicken from your favorite family owned restaurant, or toss together a tofu and raspberry/blueberry spinach salad. TahDah – you’re ready to join your neighbors in wishing the US a very happy birthday!
